There are many many ways of working with spirit, not just the sitting and giving the 'message' just going about your daily life to the best of your ability, and treating others with respect, Is one way. Another is by having a willingness to understand, a willingness to listen, these things come under the heading of Healing yet it is still working with  and for spirit. By smiling at a stranger who may have had the worst day in their lives, by smiling at a stranger who may not of spoken to anyone for days, who is lonely, is all part of being spiritual, of being the best you can. Not judging others, accepting difference, we are not all the same. By being willing to acknowledge that sometimes we can be wrong. This is all part and parcel of the same thing. I personally always feel sorry for people who cannot do this. because they have no idea what they are missing.

In my classes I try to be as open as possible to new ways of working, remember we never stop learning so I am learning too, not just my students. We usually end up in fits of laughter as learning can be fun. It is the way I was taught, enjoy it, never be afraid to get it wrong. and never ever be afraid to laugh at your mistakes.

LETS LOOK AT WAYS OF WORKING

Well like I have said there are many ways. 90% of Working starts on a psychic link. To me it is important to get that bit right first.

SO HOW DO WE DO THIS

Everyone is born psychic it is part of our natural makeup. It isn't a 'GIFT' it isn't presented in a pretty ribbon. It is a natural born ability.

There are many ways of opening the channels. Of being able to learn.  I experiment a lot with my students we do everything from Pendulum work, EVP, Meditations and linking. We work with Psychometry, Tarot, Crystals, Colour and anything else I can think of.

Each one is important because, every Medium will work differently and they need to understand the difference between a psychic link and a spirit one.  Also sometimes, just sometimes we need to start the reading off, or fill in the gaps. It is something that I have learned. I too used to frown at the psychic link until I learned it is very important to be able to do both, To be able to recognise the difference. And so long as you make it known, 'This is me not spirit'  there is no harm at all in it. I have to state here, that once spirit does step in, anything you are using has to be put down, as it is illegal to hold anything whilst doing a spirit communication.

There are many things you can do, But it does have to start with you. Get used to meditating, get used to the inner silence, allow  your thoughts to come and go. It is impossible to completely quieten  the mind. However by simply acknowledging the thought i.e. 'I will deal with that later', will allow the thought to pass. This will quieten the mind enough to allow spirit in, a busy mind is like trying to talk in a disco.

Next you trust, don't dismiss things as 'oh that was me' spirit are very subtle and sometimes it is like a thought that pops in your head. You will learn the difference between you and them.

ENJOY Don't try to run before you can walk, it is ok to be quiet, it is when the most work is done by spirit.

Let's look at different work areas as a psychic

PENDULUM

The Pendulum has been used for thousands of years. Some call it Divination others call it Dowsing, Basically it is all the same thing.

The Pendulum is brilliant for yes or no answers. Remember though never hold the chain of the pendulum with the very tip of your thumb, There is a tiny muscle there Hold it further down the thumb. There is little that dowsing cannot tell you. So long as the question is angled right. The answer will be given to you. Dowsing can be used to locate items/people/water/oil. Infact even today dowsing is used by oil merchants.

TAROT

Once again the tarot has been around for thousands of years. Many nations used the tarot as a tool for war. Kings and queen consulted the seer, who used the tarot, to decide on major decisions.

SCRYING

Scrying roughly translated means seeing through. It can be a Crystal ball or a candle flame. The trick is to look through not into the ball or flame.

PSYCHOMETRY

In Psychometry you hold something belonging to the sitter or a relative. This can be an item of Jewellery or a photograph. The aim is to link into the vibrational energy of the item you are  holding

AURA

The aura or energy field surround us, holds all the information about our lives, from loves to losses, to likes and dislikes. And it is possible to see anything about that person.

COLOUR

Colour like sound has a vibrational energy. Most work using colour by linking into the aura. and 'seeing' the colours of the aura. Others use ribbons etc. It works much the same way as an aura reading. By linking into the vibration you are able to do a reading that is pretty good.

These are just a few ways of working. In reality there are hundreds. There is no magic wand. It takes time commitment and practise practise practise.

If you think you are linking into sprit. Take yourself to the Spiritual church. or find a good teacher in your area. And remember not everyone will agree on everything. Take on board what's makes sense and disregard the rest.

WHAT IS IT LIKE WHEN SPIRIT ARE CLOSE.

When Spirit draw close it is very subtle. There is no Flashes of lightening nor any drum roll. Spirit come close softly and gently, for years I thought I was inadequate because I didn't  have spirit sitting on my sofa, drinking tea. It is myths like this, that are so often  flippantly said by various Mediums to impress their client, that can ruin the confidence of the fledgling Medium, it makes them feel as though they are 'Not' as good. What the Medium fails to mention is that they are seeing the image clairvoyantly if it was 'Real' you would see it too. Spirit impress our thoughts and can and do adjust the images we see. If you think of your eyes. you 'look' at an image. That image is then transferred to the brain for you to recognise. Spirit impress the same image with an image of themselves before it reaches the conscious self. ( remember everything has to enter this part of the brain then is placed in the subconscious part for recall later). So if you look at a chair, the image is flashed from the eyes, by the time it reaches the brain it has a spirit sitting on the chair. To you it seems real and it is, but it isn't physical, for it to actually be happening everyone would be able to see the same thing.

So what do you look for. like I have already said spirit is very subtle. You may feel a tingling on the face that feels like a cobweb or a stray hair gently falling down your face. This is spirit energy. it feels very itchy like someone is tickling you. The back of the neck, is another place for this to happen because these are sensitive areas Spirit use them, The neck usually feels like a spider crawling.

The head is another area, have you ever gone to bed and then felt there is something walking through your head,  like a spider or bug, Again this is spirit. You may feel cold but in just one place like the upper arm or the lower leg. The lower leg is usually a child stepping forward and again it will only be one leg or one arm. The solar plexus is another area you may without warning feel a churning in your lower abdomen, it will start suddenly and stop just as suddenly. The solar plexus is the energy centre of the body and it is here spirit try impress  on us empathically. You may 'see' spirit but it will be like I have said earlier or out of the corner of your eye. Don't turn your head to look as you will see nothing.   Smell is another sense that spirit use. You may suddenly smell a familiar smell that will remind you of someone you have lost. The other smell is like a million wild flowers it comes in suddenly and smells so sweet and calming, then is gone again. No name will ever be given to the flowers as it is really like a million wild ones. If you could bottle the smell you would make a fortune. You may 'Hear' now hearing is mainly heard subjectively (inside the head) Spirit will impress your thoughts. You could be in work concentrating on something and suddenly some totally unrelated thought will pop into your head. It will remind you of someone or something this is spirit The aspect of 'giving the message is just a minuet part of the whole process of communicating. Each person is different and each will communicate differently Mediumship is a massive umbrella. There are literally hundreds of ways of communicating with them and them with us. You have to trust.

THE GUIDES

Each Medium/Healer with have several guides and at any one time there can be up to 7 working with you, these are listed below. How do you meet them? Mediation is the best way. Guided Meditations relax you and enables spirit to impress our thoughts. If there is nothing else you take from this then please Trust. Spirit are closer than you think and are desperate for you to realise that.

The Master Guide

He assigns other guides to us, to help us and teach us. He is often unknown.

The Doorkeeper

Is best described as a doorman or bouncer, he will guard the door through to you and protect you.

The Controller

He deals with your subconscious mind. While we sleep spirit send messages through to the subconscious mind. This can be called upon by the conscious mind to be used when needed.

The Quieteners

This guides helps quieten the mind, when we are faced with trials.

The Unfolders

This guides helps us move on.

The Energizers

This guides helps revitalises us, he gives us that added boost of energy when we need it most.

The Inspirers.

This guides helps inspire us, with words of wisdom, philosophy, become a Medium or Healer. They inspire and impress our thoughts.

The Bridgers

When someone comes for a sitting/reading. And spirit does not come through straight away. This guide will begin the reading off giving us information to portrait to our client. They also help spirit in readings, when they are not experienced enough to communicate with the Medium. this guide will help translate. They are also the guide that will bring pets through. Animals cannot talk, they couldn't whilst on earth. and they do not obtain the ability to talk once they get to the spirit world. This guide will and does bring these animals through.

It annoys me greatly when I hear of a medium that has said. 'I have your dog here, he says you made him so happy', whilst this 'made him happy' bit may be true, the dog certainly did not say it.

The Quietners, Inspirers, Unfolders and Energises will and do change as we progress.

THE REALMS

Lets have a look at the Realms. The Realms, Levels, Planes, there are many words to describe these basically they are all the same.  You will hear people talking about the Realms of the spirit world. Realms means levels and there are 7 levels.

Level 1  and 2 are here on earth. Someone who is a good person Spiritual for want of a better word is at level 2. Mr Jo average is at level 1.

When we die and go to the spirit world we then reach level 3, we still have work to do here, and it is only when we progress past this stage will we reach level 4.

Level 4 Is not quite an angel but not a general spirit either. Again lessons are learned. These lessons can take hundreds of years (our Time), we will also be able to assist a Medium at this stage although we won't be a guide.

Level 5 We are guides, we are teachers, we have learnt our own lessons and are able to assist the fledgling  on their journey. Some call us angels at this stage although we are not.

Angels, these are at level 6. So are Master Guides, The process from 2 - 6 can take thousands of years.

Level 7 is at the right hand side of God. there is no higher level than this. These are Archangels. the messengers., People often talk of Angels coming to earth. In reality they cannot. What happens is they pass a message to the master guide or Angel at level 6 who then send in a teacher at level 5 These will impress upon us the persona of  an Angel. so that the message gets through to us.

If you look at Silver Birch, he was a Guide of Maurice Barbanell. Maurice channelled the teachings of 'Silver Birch'  through trance. These were published and are still best sellers today. The teachings have inspired many. When 'Silver Birch' came to the earth plane under this name, in the persona of an North American Indian it is widely known that this was not the Guides real name nor was he an Indian. He was so highly evolved the only way he could get his teachings through was to use Silver Birch as his instrument of communication. Who in turn used Maurice Barbanell.  These Teachings are so thought provoking, it would not be impossible to read them without digesting and then disecting what is said, This is what the Guide intended. We don't just take everything we see or hear at face value. a true teacher will make you think about that is being said. And even having a debate with yourself or someone around you. Spirit will inspire teach and guide you any way they can.

Arthur Conan Doyle is well known as the creator of Sherlock Holmes. He wrote these books and intended to kill the Doctor off in his book the Final Problem , but the pressure from his fans finally persuaded him to write more. His real interest was Spiritualism. He wrote The hound of the Baskervilles and was catapulted into fame. although his heart was set on writing factual rather than fiction.

In 1918 he wrote The new Revelation. followed in 1926 by the History of Spiritualism. After he went to spirit many of his fans blamed spiritualism for 'ruining' a brilliant author. In reality. Arthur's heart was there. And I for one am glad that he got his wish.

He Died in 1930. The history of Spiritualism is still in circulation today

Winston Churchill would often visit, Helen Duncan a renowned physical medium, for guidance on the 2nd World War, Helen was hounded by the law and imprisoned under the witchcraft Act, Even whilst she was in prison, Churchill continued to visit Helen for Guidance. Before she died he asked her if there was anything he could do for her, She wanted the witchcraft Act removed. So it was through this liaison that Churchill  finally balloted and won, the change of law from the witchcraft act to the fraudulent mediums act in 1951. Helen died when one of her 'séances' was raided by police.

So you see it isn't just 'Mediums' who are inspired by spirit. People from all walks of life are impressed and can and do, take the challenge up that spirit has given them.
